1 more question about RCA plugs. Are the RS Audio RCA plugs an over kill? They are on Sale at Parts connection? $13.95 a pair so $27.90 for a set. Shipping would be $

Can post a link, can't look up via Google as the name for both is too common.

Huh. What a weird design. Plastic ground? So there's only a small metal tab inside? And what the hell is that strain relief, a grub screw pushing into the cable mantle? That's prone to develop problems.

Good example of overfancy design that brings nothing but downsides. Avoid

Well it's easy to be honest because plugs are simple things. There's some shell there the screw is pushing on, so not on the cable directly - still that's a weird lopsided result leading to mechanical stress and potential failure point. Strain relief is an essential part for durability. It's supposed to grab and surround like a hand, not be a pointy thing, so that bending forces into any direction get distributed evenly.

The keli RCA Plugs are made like these and so is the Aero plugs too. I will stay way from them for sure.

I think am going to go with the Neutrik NF2C-B/2 Profi Professional RCA Plug Pair. It has a nice stain relief and is probably the most I will spend on an RCA plug. I have some Dayton Audio 4 % silver solder I had left over from a previous project. Unless there’s a better built RCA plug for around $11.19 a piece. I like the features on these plugs a lot. Never had an issue with the cheaper neutriks. Wrap a bit of electrical tape around the pin connection after soldering if you’re worried about shorting it to the sleeve. I do agree soldering that sleeve with the pin in the way can be tricky.

I am not even shure the ground is connected at all? Anyway I agree these should be avoided. Many better and cheaper options available.

Those do look nicer to solder than the less expensive ones.

I agree. To many power issues with DTE these days and blown power outages.

Well Yes having built my own cables is rewarding for sure. So, I have the nice new soldering station a weller digtal one and my new heat gun station as well it’s been a sitting for a while now. Why not start using it? I don’t mind making my own cables. Something for me to do. . Am a diyer this is what I do. ‍☺.

LOL fine as you know it's not particularly anything outside of that. I like Neutrik for connectors generally, altho I have so many rca cables on hand I never use them for that, more the xlr stuff

I will only make a few then call it a day and sit down and listen to music. I like to build my own things today unless I don’t have the tools or it’s very time consuming. I say roll your own cables and save money.

I use Mogami 2528 stereo wire (siamese paired) with those Neutrik/Rean connectors many people have posted. Hard to go wrong with that combination.

So your speakers are diy now? Cables are just not worth any extra effort due no gains from such unless you're sucked into silly cable audiophilia.

I have since bought diy speaker cables over the years now and not on the hifi silly over priced cables train.

I just fixed my typo errors. Sorry about the mistake on my spelling.Yes I have learned from this forum that that wire is a function and not an investment. That wire works or it doesn’t.
