Hi all,
please see above the measurements of my 2.1 system in my untreated room (svs sb-1000 and monitor audio bronze 2) - the orange line is combined measurement, pink is sub, red are the mains (please note that I have added some volume to the sub in the combined measurements). The measurements are var smoothed.
I use hifiberry dac+dsp as a DSP and I have spent quite some time calibrating my system via sigma studio. The crossover is set to 80 hz with 24db/octave slope and I use two sets of PEQs- one for the sub and one for the mains with around 25 bands in total. I still consider one additional PEQ block to smooth the combined output further. The target was a house curve at +6 db in the bass range and -8 db at 20 khz.
I have used REW alignment tool to get "best" behaviour at the crossover via delay, but I am still not sure whether the sub and the mains are time aligned - the impulse response graphs show that the sub is delayed relative to the mains by 10ms...
It's my first time setting-up a DSP and integrating sub so I will welcome any comments.
