I recently assembled a Raspberry Pi 5 running Lyrion + squeezelite via the piCorePlayer distribution. And to avoid needing a separate NAS, I included 1TB of NVME storage, neatly mounted underneath the Pi's motherboard, then configured piCorePlayer as a network share.
The second stage of this project was to add a an onboard OLED screen for "now playing" text display.
