I thought it was a clutch until I saw the coils.@Berwhale, a single-cylinder rotary 'motor' or a shaft-driven pump?
I added the 2nd picture a little later. I was reading about axial flux motors and their automotive use when I wondered if they were ever used in turntables, which lead me to the Technics SL-1210 MK7 motor...I thought it was a clutch until I saw the coils.![]()

Well, it is what would ultimately be called a monoblock.Fantastic. Loses half a star for only having one VU meter, but definitely gets my vote for the most awesome/ridiculous amplifier name ever.
Splendid!
Curious about the "Electrostatic" and "Dynamic" headphone socket outputs on the Ampzilla.Well, it is what would ultimately be called a monoblock.
SWTPCo had a whole line of "Tiger" amplifiers. Well, three of them, at least. That's the big one.
Predated Jim Bongiorno's Ampzilla by a wee bit, too... at least I think I did.
Full disclosure - there's an Ampzilla hulk in the basement.
(it's a long story...)
