Radiant Acoustics Clarity 6.2 - Purifi based compact speaker

I don't want to interrupt this interesting discussion, but the matching Radiant Acoustics Clarity Stands are now officially available from their online shop.

https://radiantacoustics.com/products/clarity-stands

Personally, I was stupid enough to place a 200 € deposit for the stands at HiFi Klubben (the sales chain owned by Peter Lyngdorf) four and a half months ago, because I thought I'd get my pair early then ... well, I might be able to pick them up on Friday. :P

It's as simple as I don't believe the site loses any income due to link sharing and I think you guys made that up.

Which no one claimed. If you are going to make the questionable choice of publicly arguing with the site admins, you might want to have more of a clue first. Otherwise, you just look like someone who desperately needs a little time off.

Manufacturers probably use 'break in' as a proxy for 'give your brain some time to get used to the sound of your new stuff before you complain or freak out'
Some decades ago I recall talking to a senior marketing rep for a national brewery. They had a marketing campaign underway where it was recommended you try their beer for 30 days. It was precisely for the reason you state above -- doing almost anything for 30 days in a row will let your brain adapt to the "new normal" and at that point, their competitors' beers wouldn't taste right.

The thing I find odd about most subjective audiophiles is they are absolutely convinced that the very well known rules of how the brain works and is subject to any number of subconscious variables don't apply to them.

SoundStage Network NRC measurements:

Exemplary from above, as expected absolutely fine:

I listened these speakers at Munich audio show and I liked them a lot. To an extend that I would seriously considering buying them, no matter I am currently fully satisfied by my Monitor Audio silver 500 7g tower speakers. Which produce a lot of bass, but the one coming from these bookshelf speakers was very satisfying. In a different room of course, way more small than my 35 sq meters living room.

I asked the guy who was doing the presentation and confirmed that a tower speaker is also on their plans and if I understood correctly behind his words(as he didn't share a lot) their developers team is already working on that.

But the whole experience triggered my interest in these purifi driver's. I noticed that the woofers were working overdrive and they were ready to explode no matter sound volume was moderate. Is this a characteristic of these drivers?

Are these purifi drivers relatively recent and widely recognized as a breakthrough in loudspeaker transducer design?

I was so highly intrigued by the driver's, I started looking for the cost of buying the units and investigate a diy project which is something I would never consider in the past given my 0 experience and my terrible diy skills. But from a first quick research I found out that the cost of these transducers is very high. And going to a fully purifi design, as I saw there is also a twitter now available, will cost you a lot of money so the cost of Radiant Clarity 6.2 is somehow justified. I want to highlight that having inspected the speakers from close I can say that they are built like tanks and they shout for quality.

I will appreciate if I receive some answers on my questions regarding purifi drivers or share any thoughts or advice.

I have a similar Purifi design, YB Audio Pulse. I´m impressed by the drivers because of their clean and distortion free sound but after a while I began to miss the naturalness of the midrange. Something I get from my other drivers (SB Acoustics Satori and Scan Speak Classic) It all depends on your preferences and music.

Uh-huh.

A little harmonic distortion can sound nice. Doesn’t make it correct, though :)

They are some of the world’s best and most advanced drivers - utilizing several patents. Also made by some very nice people indeed!
You can read up on all the tech on their website.

The drivers we use in Radiant Acoustics are super long throw, meaning they will visibly move a lot, yeah. That’s completely intended :)

Yes adding distortion always help me connect to the music, not too much though otherwise I can no longer recognise the tune.

I thought the same until I heard truly low distortion speakers - big 3-way midfields (from the likes of Genelec, ATC, Neumann, PSI, etc).

There is also a smaller version available now, with the clarity 4.2
Bummer, my guess was wrong in December 2024 ...

Not the worst "wrong guess" one can have. ;)

What is your next guess? :D
