Radiant Acoustics Clarity 6.2 - Purifi based compact speaker

As much as I (pre) approve of this, it seems like a new policy. Very unexpected, and my post got deleted "just like that" simply because it contained a uToob link. Without any prior warning.

Regarding my recent post in the Radient Acoustics speaker thread that was suddenly deleted, I demand an explanation.

It's highly irritating, let me say that. You post stuff and suddenly it gets deleted without any warning.

The notice has been posted to the general public for over a month. I understand it can be frustrating to have a post deleted. People were taking advantage of our generous terms and using this site to redirect views and hits to make money on different sites that are monetized. As we are not. Check your notifications and you will find a notification that was just sent to you to explain why your post was removed. It’s not a perfect system but we are doing the best we can to keep this site as free from advertising as we can. Unfortunately this effort includes the necessity to remove video links that are not properly introduced.

Thank you for your cooperation and understanding. Happy Saturday.

I think I understand. One cannot post uToob links without following very tight guidelines and additional effort.

I'm sure y'all mean well, but it's still unfortunate, and discouraging. Certainly has been for me here.

I wish y'all moderators had been a little less technical and a little more personal here. My takeaway certainly won't be positive in regards to this forum and its moderation, be assured. And I'm not a stranger to forum moderation either.

My, my ..... what a childish threat. Do you always throw a hissy-fit when you don't get your way?

When you put your feet under another person's table and enjoy their food, are you not required by common decency to follow their rules? You haven't even become a Forum Donor, so you've been enjoying this forum that you criticize free of charge.

I don't disagree with the new rule but this is a stretch for sure. You guys are paranoid over nothing. It doesn't even sound like you even understand digital royalties. What a weird take. It's Erin all over again.

Ingrate.
Wow. That's new to me, honestly.

I need to pay money, or else I'm an "ingrate", aka "not donor", aka "non paying member who gets no say" under this "to-pay" table I as a regular member am putting my feet under?

Really? Is that what you want to say? I really hope I'm misunderstanding you here. Because if not, that's pathetic and not at all what I always understood this forum to be about.

You want to call me childish? Really?

That's a strawman. Everyone here has equal "say". Donors simply show appreciation. Your post, OTOH, didn't.
You've been here almost a year. You know that this forum is paid for entirely by Amir's private funds. There is no advertising here, and Amir wants it exactly that way. His dime, his rules.
You could have simply said, " Sorry .... I didn't see that post."

As for my use of the word "ingrate", I admit that was a bit harsh. I apologize for that, and I will go back and delete that. After all, I wouldn't want to be .... childish.

You were provided with the answers. You don’t agree, that’s fine. The new rules were posted. I sent you a notice and politely responded to your Demands. You were rude and insulting. The only thing that was done is a simple low effort post deletion. You acted like you were drug over the coals in public. It’s just a forum. We have rules. The rules are in place for a reason. You are free to go elsewhere if you don’t like our rules. You should reread the terms of membership. We reserve the right to remove any content for any reason. Quote:

We may remove or modify any Content submitted at any time, with or without cause, with or without notice. Requests for Content to be removed or modified will be undertaken only at our discretion. We may terminate your access to all or any part of the Service at any time, with or without cause, with or without notice.”

You came at me hot and heavy. I responded with respect and professionalism. Now you are just dragging this down the road for bonus drama points. I think we’re done here. Let’s move on please.

Yes, I agree. Let's move on. I will take the appropriate consequence. It's been a pleasure to be here. Take care!

I was lucky enough to see the linked video about the radiant acoustics before it got randomly deleted. As I'm looking for every information to this speaker, I'm thankful it was posted, otherwise wouldn't have found it.

We aren't against videos. If someone wants to provide a bit of a helpful summary so people can discuss it without needing to watch a monetized video to participate, that would be great.

With a couple million visitors a month, we are fertile ground for those looking to get referrals and views. Is adding the requirement that the person who feels a video is important enough to post here to take a few minutes to give it a meaningful summary so onerous?

Funny what people decide to get bent out of shape over.

Am I not allowed to comment on how silly this is? If policies are not open to criticism that kind of sets a bad precedent for the site. It's cause I mentioned that one guy isn't it?

Your quoted post above is not a comment or criticism. It’s laced with insults and accusations (at least five separate jabs/insults). The opposite of Constructive criticism or feedback. However, Brad took the time to give a rationale and in depth explanation for the Rule.

Now you continue to press the issue for what purpose exactly? How big of an issue is this rule to you? Is this something that you just can’t live with? The rule is set by Amir. It’s his house, his rules. While we are open to constructive criticism and feedback that helps us improve the Member experience here. You might want to check yourself and reflect on how you use words and phrases that will elicit a positive response. This was not that.

It's as simple as I don't believe the site loses any income due to link sharing and I think you guys made that up. The fact that you believe it does seems to indicate a misunderstanding of digital royalties. That's hardly an insult, it is an assessment. I believe the real reason is something else not mentioned. If Amir truly stands by that belief perhaps someone could give him a crash course in royalties.

The rule is set by Amir. It’s his house, his rules.

That was never in question. The rules need to make sense though and be based in reality.

Let's say you visit your brother. The last time you were there, he had double traverse rods with pinch pleat drapes on his windows, and this time you see that he has Roman shades with a wood dowel. He says they are much easier to draw and provide more privacy, both assertions with which many people would disagree.

Would you tell him that his reasons are "a stretch for sure"? Would you tell him that he doesn't even understand the basics of privacy? Would you say, "What a weird take!"?

And if your brother indicated that he considered you remarks disrespectful, would you say, "Am I not allowed to comment on how silly this is?" Would you tell him that not being open to criticism sets a bad precedent in the family?

We like to think that the membership here is a "family", and in a way it is. But it's not that close and forgiving as a real family because it has thousands of different members from all over the world. Therefore, it needs to have rules that a regular family doesn't (necessarily) need.

Members' comments are welcome ... as long as they are constructive and reasonably respectful. Anything you wouldn't say - or attitude that you wouldn't display - to a member of your family is sure as hell not appropriate here.

If that is unacceptable to you, fund your own website and make your own rules.

Edit: If you wish to criticize the Administration and Moderators, would it not be better to do it in a private message rather than the public forum?
