In the '70s, popular equipment makers sold rack for their components. Pioneer, Nakamichi and few others I can't recall off the top of my head.

I had a Nikko rack system like that. I still have the amp and equalizer.

Crocodile Dundee in NYC - that scene was cool.

Even with your hint it took me some time to realize that those 70's style "speakers" are not speakers but your rack.

Yup, that was the idea - the rack is basically indistinguishable from the L200s, though it's actually 2" narrower.

Like @Xulonn I have a preference for 'woodies' (I really like that George Nakashima?) style shelf idea!)
My gear collection is a hodge podge of mostly second-hand stuff and not very 'aesthete' by itself, so hiding it (and most of the zillions of associated wires) is priority...and challenge.

But so far it works extremely well, and runs at a max of 86 degrees.

What is the make and model of your power control and distribution unit? I am looking for something similar.

Not about racks specifically, but similar.

Our favorite Subjectivist website, The Absolute Sound, was going on again about the minutiae of these new footers and how they changed the sound when placed under his amps and such.
The new part was this:
"Lavrencik believes that it takes about a week for his footers to settle in and that some initial deterioration in sound may be experienced when they are inserted into a system."

http://www.theabsolutesound.com/articles/critical-mass-systems-center-stage2-isolation-footers/

Yes, we are now being told there is a break-in period for footers! And just in case you are not immediately impressed, it may actually sound worse at first he warns, so give it time. The reviewer goes on, spewing descriptive audio verbiage on how it specifically changed the sound for him.
All this can be yours, for the low price of only $240 each and up, sold in sets of four.

Hmm, just saw this thread. I have bee racking my brain to find one I spent more than $20 on. I have an old wobbly pine rack I bought from Home Depot for $19 25 years ago that holds most of the main stuff. You can lean it to the right or left to taste. The rest of the things are on those fold out kind of racks that Cost Plus used to sell that were about $20 apiece in the day. Inflation seems to have increased the cost of these to about $30-$35 when you can find them.
My SME 30 turntable is on a nice pine end table that was $15 from Goodwill, and it holds all of my audio odds 'n ends in it's drawer/cabinet. I do have a granite microscope base under the TT with space age anti-vibration gel suitable for 10,000X microscope that cost $350 on sale.

I don't think I have ever impressed anybody bragging about the audio wonders that I have experienced from my racks. I wonder why.

If you are concerned about vibration, there are tons of industrial used and cast off hi tech anti vibration devices on ebay all the time, but they don't carry the audiophile cachet, though they are likely just as good if not better for vibration control. For audiophiles who like heavy crap, many are also really heavy: https://www.ebay.com/itm/LR-Table-M...215683?hash=item5b49dc90c3:g:sVQAAOSwUXFbRjTg

If someone is willing to spend (starting) $240 each for footers in sets of four, perhaps they deserve whatever it is they are getting.
I wouldn't want to be the one that wrote the above mentioned article. Pretty thin moral basis. But after all we are not socialists, are we??:p

And in the purely subjectivist paradigm claims like these can never be falsified. If you don't hear footers breaking in, well you don't have ears as Golden as the person who does.

There was a thread a few years ago on the 'other forum' full of itchy, overstuffed wallets engaging in one ups. They were raving over one of the new expensive platform that used electrical actuators to cancel vibrations that, of course, according to testimonials, provided cosmically superior audio results.

The manufacturer showed up on the thread somewhat surprised, because the device was not originally conceived for audio but for other purposes in labs and industry. Though he was delighted to extend his market, he stated that the platform wasn't really suited to the audio band for audio products, because of the nature of the aluminum platter. He said he would make a more optimal model with a different platter to actually suit audio products.

I found that amusing after the testimonials.

Maybe the reviewer's old stand was a wet cardboard box and he was balancing a turntable on two feet. 10/10 great rack.
