Vol. level 98 on Fiio BR15 gives me DMM reading 4 v on 0 dBFS signal and after calibration I can cross match DMM reading with different dBFS/Volts/dBV, dBu values.

Quick question on RTA spectrum capture on REW, is there a way to make it stable or stopped after the no. of averages set, rather than keep it going through cycle of measurements and values jumping?

In the RTA Cogwheel menu, set Averages to Forever, then enable "Stop at" and choose the number of averages.

Rezultate interesante și perspective tehnice excelente de la staticV3 și Sokel privind calibrarea tensiunii și potențialele capcane ale motorului de sunet Windows.

Am rulat recent teste similare de loopback și am descoperit că trecerea la un mediu Linux minimalist (Q4OS) ajută semnificativ la asigurarea unei căi bit-perfecte prin ALSA, ocolind straturile software menționate de Sokel. Utilizarea unei conexiuni Toslink prin intermediul dispozitivului meu Marantz AV7704 a oferit o izolare galvanică completă, ceea ce a dus la o sincronizare a ceasului foarte stabilă (Delta de 0,0 ppm).

În ceea ce privește setările RTA, poți încerca să bifezi caseta „Obține fundamental de la generator” pentru o mai bună blocare a frecvenței. De asemenea, trecerea de la fereastra Hann la o fereastră Flat Top sau Blackman-Harris 7 ar putea oferi citiri ale amplitudinii mai precise pentru aceste tipuri de măsurători.

Atașez o captură rapidă din configurația mea bazată pe Linux pentru comparație. Arată cum se comportă zgomotul de fond atunci când interferențele software sunt reduse la minimum.

Thanks, just used translator and seems like you are suggesting to try linux.
I have recently freed up my old surface pro and moved my media to DM100 player, I guess I should try Zorin OS now.

PS. Don’t know how easy or compatible a linux distro will be for such tasks.

Zorin OS has an interface very similar to Windows, so you will get used to it quickly. Installing REW is straightforward through the Terminal; the Linux version might look a bit dated, but it includes all the essential features.

The main advantage is that it bypasses the Windows mixer and all its processing. The microphone will be detected natively, and ALSA will work flawlessly. You have nothing to lose by giving it a try.

I did install Zorin os last evening, but REW didn’t clearly show the other usb connected DAC. I didn’t find way to get ASIO as well and so had to stop.
Probably I should try a different linux distro which could work better with REW with clear I/O support.

I did try that, but couldn’t figure out proper input & output. Tried all available options one by one and then got tired at the end.
