Question iem metals

What types of metals are IEMs made from? Are they metals that oxidize and corrode easily due to humidity and temperature, and after oxidation and corrosion, is the performance and audio quality not the same as before?

Connectors are the most vulnerable. The iem housing usually has a tiny vent hole so the interior components' environment is more vapor controlled - unless water had accidentally entered the housing. I am not familiar with your mentioned iems' connector designs. As regards impairment if suspect exposed connection metal is vulnerable simple cleaning points of contact can resolve that. While any green seen on a transparent wiring cable and/or crimp points is likely mild surface oxidation and not corrosion so usually just a cosmetic factor.

Unfortunately a lot of this stuff is "secret sauce" and is not disclosed by the manufacturers.

I have a KZ EDC Pro; the inside of the cable connector is green. Is this due to corrosion and a loss of sound quality? The cable on the left, with the green connector, used to be gold.

Are the pins and drivers inside the EDC Pro, EDX Pro, and GK Kunten cases made of metals that corrode due to high temperature and humidity?
