Hello,
First of all, thank you all for writing on this forum. I've never posted before, but used it often to check on products I was interested in.
I have a DENON CDR-W1500 that I inhereted from my dad. I use it only as a CD player but there are issues that made me buy a new CD player.
Issues:
- around half of the classical music CD's I try to play on it, do not get read.
- I even have around 5 CD's from the past 10 years that stutter or ignore-part-of-a-song->skip to next song.
- the right CD tray sometimes won't open and you hear a motor stutter inside the machine.
These issues do not occur on my PC CD player or my new player (20 CD's played on it) so I think it's pretty safe to assume it's not the CD's themselves causing this.
I read online that this machine works well for many other users and that they are very pleased with the quality. Now I am wondering:
- What could be the problem of these issues?
- Is it worth to let someone repair these issues?
- Is it worth to sell this machine for reserve parts?
Note that the machine has no sentimental value or anything for me and the buttons, case and all are in a great state (minor scratches)
I am not looking 'to make a profit', just don't want to throw away something that might still be worth something to someone and if I do sell it (for parts) I want to tell them what's wrong with it before they buy it.
Thank you for your advice!
Kind regards
