Hi,
I have been poking around the ASR the past few weeks and now wondering if I should replace my old Sub. The Sub I am using is an old 10" Paradigm thats ported and only has an input wiring. (This sub was actually left at our house by the previous owner as part of the furniture so I sort of inherited it) There is no integrated cross over that will take the lower frequencies and pass the higher frequencies along to my bookshelf speakers. Im driving the Sub with the B speaker Output and the Bookshelves with with the A speaker output - so all speakers are getting the same source signal from the Amp....

Im seeing highly regarded Subs ( lower end about $600) with both types of wiring. The Rythmik L12 has a similar wiring set up to the Paradigm, where it only has inputs and no pass through cross over outputs. While the SVS SB 1000 pro, has a crossover output that would take the lows off my book shelves. Is there a way to determine which is the right way to go for my system or are they both OK for music on any given system?

My set up is Definitive Tech Studio Monitor 55's and an old Sony TA 555 ES AMP - I know its old! But it still sounds good to me :-)

Thanks!

Most modern gear has sub/line outs, which is why most subs don’t have pass-thrus with crossovers.

I do find it odd that I see it normally on cheaper subs, the Dayton subs for instance.

I have a newer home theater reciever that has a SUB Out but my old Sony AMP that I use for music does not.

But if you look at the back of the Rhytmik, it has low level L-R RCA inputs?

Is there an external device to implement that separately?
