Your text is the last drop in the glass. I am ordering the Qudelix. As others have mentioned, for Mac/iphone/ipad use then the Qudelix 5K is the only sensible option as the app works perfectly.
Fiio makes neat and nicely designed Bluetooth dac/amp dongles but their app and control software is woefully utterly shit, and does not play nicely with iOS devices, their software updates are also shit and they bring to market new products all the time without paying any heed to older products.
They’re a company that fits the marketing term “throw all the shit against the wall and see what sticks”.
Update- Just ordered itYour text is the last drop in the glass. I am ordering the Qudelix.
Thank you for chipping in
I just set select "USB DAC" in the INPUT / PRIORITY option. Has worked for me...Yeah, it's crazy how small the thing is. I also learned to RTFM because there are a lot of settings. If you are planning on using it with USB-C, I recommend changing the setting under INPUT > Bluetooth Mode for USB DAC to Disconnect A2DP. Otherwise, I found the phone would be using bluetooth even when connected via USB-C, which is obviously of no benefit. If you ever want to use bluetooth, just flip the setting back to Normal.
I've always had mine set to that (I think it's the default, which would make sense), but BT would still take over for some reason. I rarely use it so I find it easier to turn it off.I just set select "USB DAC" in the INPUT / PRIORITY option. Has worked for me...
There is a pretty significant use case: iPhones & iPads. The Qudelix app only works through BT on iOS (an Apple restriction). So, if you want to play music through USB for best quality, and fiddle with the 5K settings at the same time (PEQ…), you need both USB and BT connections…I can't think of any reason you'd want to use BT when you are plugged into the same device with USB, but maybe there's some use case for it.

This setting won't affect that. It still connects to your iPhone over BT.There is a pretty significant use case: iPhones & iPads. The Qudelix app only works through BT on iOS (an Apple restriction). I still suggest changing that setting if you have any issues, because for me, just setting USB priority didn't solve it. The Q5K will still connect over BT even if you disable BT audio.Thank you for this, I had one delivered today but I'm not home from work yet to play with it. I am using an iphone so it's one less thing to figure out when I get home.
When you say “connect”, do you mean the Qudelix app, or the audio from whatever device/player app you’re using? This setting won't affect that. It still connects to your iPhone over BT.

Connect to the app. I never want BT audio when I have the device plugged into USB.When you say “connect”, do you mean the Qudelix app, or the audio from whatever device/player app you’re using?
My iPhone will still default to playing over BT when plugged in even though I have priority set to USB. I’m not sure why it does. Disabling A2DP lets me stay connected to the app but it will never try to use BT audio unless I specifically enable A2DP, which fits my use case.As we speak, I have a Q5K connected through BT to my iPhone, but it’s playing from my PC through USB. That’s what setting PRIORITY to “USB DAC” does: telling the 5K to grab audio from USB (PC), not from my iPhone (BT). But I can still control the 5K from my iPhone (BT), or from my PC (Cr extension > USB), my choice.
I guess I’m not sure to understand why you need to disable A2DP… If I don’t want the BT connection, I just disconnect it in the BT devices list on my phone, it still plays through USB.
This Head-Fi reply seems to be a pretty plausible explanation of what's going on: https://www.head-fi.org/threads/the-qudelix-5k-thread.914628/post-18735144I have never connected the 5K to two devices, but that sounds like a bug.
Yeah, I asked the question there as well. And they responded to it.This Head-Fi reply seems to be a pretty plausible explanation of what's going on: https://www.head-fi.org/threads/the-qudelix-5k-thread.914628/post-18735144
Not sure if it's really a bug though...
