Clip it to your ear lobe? After all, it’s an audio device and who knows, you may launch a new fashion trend !!!I mean, lesson learned, I’ll clip it to my jeans pocket instead. But it’s not like Qudelix specifies where you are supposed to clip that thing, though?
The Internet is a harsh place. Sorry your clip broke.I mean, lesson learned, I’ll clip it to my jeans pocket instead. But it’s not like Qudelix specifies where you are supposed to clip that thing, though?
Yeah, I admit it would be nice if the clip mechanism wasn't held to the plastic body of the 5K by a 1.5mm pin but I doubt Qudelix can cover where/where not to utilise their clip and how to use it in every scenario, sometimes "mechanical sympathies" come into play.I mean, lesson learned, I’ll clip it to my jeans pocket instead. You can also clip it a belt loop, rather than the belt itself.I mean, lesson learned, I’ll clip it to my jeans pocket instead. But it’s not like Qudelix specifies where you are supposed to clip that thing, though?
Not really as there are very few. Qudelix-5K and a few (or one?) FiiO devices (BTR17 at least) - everyone though is saying that FiiO app is inferior to Qudelix. And that's it as far as for comparable. There are also a few simple USB dongles with PEQ, I'd not call them comparable (and all or most of them seem to be clones, just sold under different names).Makes it very hard to find the ones that have an integrated Parametric Eq
There are indeed many if customizable PEQ is your only criteria. The simplest would be something like a FiiO JA11 (5x PEQ filters). If, in addition, you need BT, Bal. & SE outputs, a battery, an integrated mic., the ability to customize the PEQ from PC / Mac / Android / iOS… then the 5K is pretty much the only choice. Can anyone here point me in the direction of finding a contemporary list of comparable Devices? Meaning Portable Dac/Headphone Amplifiers with an
ability of a Customizable Parametric Eq?
I spend the afternoon searching and my Head is melting. Never expected that there are soooooo many portable amplifiers.

get cheap TRN Black Pearl for me is 27£ take 7 days delivery to uk is so impressed me use with my Kiwi Ears Ellipse in 4.4mm and 3.5mm is great and have 8 band eq inside with walk play aswell u can change dacs to be AB or H is greatCan anyone here point me in the direction of finding a contemporary list of comparable Devices? What's wrong with the one discussed in this thread?Makes it very hard to find the ones that have an integrated Parametric Eq
Well if i am honest i started reading it until page 7 and the discussion goes too much into technical geekery,What's wrong with the one discussed in this thread?
Hmmm. If i had to list my priorities then the first that come into mind areThere are indeed many if customizable PEQ is your only criteria. If you are looking for an advanced App, superior in some aspects to the Qudelix one, take a look at the Neutron V1 (it has its own thread).
I personally like Qudelix’s T71, but it ain’t cheap!

Thank you. This Fiio JA11 looks nice but i think the power is too low for my Dt 1770 Pro. Will take a look at your other suggestionsThere are indeed many if customizable PEQ is your only criteria. Based on your criteria, I'd say the 5K fits the bill quite nicely. It's around the middle of your price range, at least based on what I paid for it here in the US.Hmmm. If i had to list my priorities then the first that come into mind are
1) Good overall sound (duh)I am saying it in this simplistic way cause I don`t care if it has some hidden distortion
i will never hear and only measurement equipment catches tbh.
2) Parametric eq with at least 5 Bands and ideally with adjustable Q factor
3) Mac/IOS app
4) Reliable as in Real world Reliability and Satisfactory performance by ideally more than a few users
5) Price ideally 50-200 euro
Thats it in a nutshell i think

The E1DA PowerDac is not the successor of anything—certainly not the 9038D or D6K—it’s… its own thing, super-interesting on the technical side, but with its own trade-offs.Thanks
Yes somehow till now i feel the steering pulling me towards the 5k.
I am just having these „last minute doubts“ when i see measurements of the E1DA 9038D (which measurements in some parts are a bit impressive)
and its successor as i interpret it, the PowerDac V2.1 or the Fiio Ka 15 or 17 and the Neutron Dac V1 and get lost a bit in the information
Though i think the fact alone that the 5k seems to be working well with Mac OS is a big advantage. To the others i can`t quite yet get a feel about.
I started reading the 5K thread but i am not ready to invest that amount of concentration to the subject as it steers away from the 5k in all sorts of interesting but also
time consuming directions
Thank you for this .The E1DA PowerDac is not the successor of anything—certainly not the 9038D or D6K—it’s… its own thing, super-interesting on the technical side, but with its own trade-offs.
You mention the DT 1770 Pro… I think the 5K will be ok. I have three 5K and a number of PEQ-enabled dongles (including two E1DA PowerDac): I leave them “permanently” attached to the HP/IEM I use.
If you do that with a 5K, you’ll make your DT 1770 Pro into a USB/BT headphones, EQ’ed to your taste, regardless of the (USB/BT) source… IMHO, EQ’ing to your taste is more important than chasing the ultimate SINAD performance.
But it’s really up to you, and if you’re still not sure, pick one that is reasonably inexpensive and see if it works for you!![]()
When you factor in the Mac/iOS app being even remotely important, the Qudelix is really the best, and most versatile option. I think, especially considering how many years it’s been available, and the company’s consistent app development, updates, and support. The only other ones I’d even consider, in that regard, are the Qudelix T71 (much more expensive, wired only - no Bluetooth), and the Neutron V1 (also wired only).Hmmm. of which a huge part is irrelevant to my question just to find out which Devices i should be looking into in the first place- What devices there are out there.
I hope what i am trying to say is coming across in an understandable way since i am not a native english speaker.
