Quad 909 Review?

Okay, but if 0.6 ohms is the resistance of the wire used to make the inductor then that 0.6 ohms should be at all frequencies ?
The DC resistance of the coil is constant, the AC "resistance" varies with the frequency.
If a resistance is specified it is the DC resistance.
What do you want to achieve with this?
Cut off the bass to the speaker? Do you have a subwoofer?

He wants to MOD the amp in what appears to be many ways. Some non-effective.

Hi all - I'm new to this forum but not new in enjoying audio.
I've owned a Quand system with 99 CDP/99 PRE/909 AMP since 2003 (except the CDP upgraded from the initial CDS).
I'm having the 99pre and 909amp go through a maintenance by Transtec in the Netherlands (they service Quad in Benelux and I'm from Luxembourg).
No upgrades, just replacing components and I suppose various other maintenance like new heat paste for the heatsink.
The quote for the maintenance of both is around 450 eur with free loan of a 99 pre and 99 amp in the meantime.
I just came across this forum or else I would have asked beforehand if anyone has had theirs already revised by Transtec and could share feedback and advice.
I guess now it's too late ... and I'll report back myself about it, I'm expecting the devices back end of next week.

I have replaced my beloved Quad 909s (used them for about 20 yrs) with Purifi based class D power amps … still have one of the Quad 909s and Quad 34 preamp in my basement packed. Quads were great but getting too hot in the summer in my listening room … Purifi class D is as good sounding and cold running … heat problem solved … will they be as reliable as Quad? Time will tell
Check out the service manuals at dada website

I have a refurbished Quad 606-2 power amp (an earlier generation of the same design as the 909) and had it repaired by Transtec not so long ago. I also had a problem with my Quad 2805 speakers (first generation with inferior glue) and in both cases the repairs were performed professionally and speedily. Transtec are a pleasure to deal with.
