Purifi vs Hypex vs A/B Amplifier?

I believe DNR also applies to amplifiers as its short hand for "distortion free dynamic range" and usually measured at 1 KHz as many other specs. It was the distance or height between the 0dB ref test signal and the highest 1st harmonic frequency, usually at 2 KHz (for Tube amps) and 3 KHz for SS/Class D amplifiers.
Yes, my bad, mixed with DR for whatever reason.
If you treat everything that comes in the box from Topping as a single package and look at the B200 as a black box, then regardless of the internal design details, the system as a whole ends up being current-limited, and not fit to match with low-impedance or complex reactive loads.
All modern amps are current limited (due to short circuit protection), so the main question is to know below which impedance it is the current limit that will limit the power instead of the power supply voltage. If it's too high for the mated speakers, better look somewhere else.

Of course there’s current limiting -every amplifier has some form of protection. Whether it's an impedance or current sensing circuit, rail fuses, output transistors, rectifiers, the mains fuse, or even a circuit breaker on the AC line, something in the system will eventually impose a current limit.

Ideally, these protection mechanisms should recover automatically and gracefully -without smoke, failure, or any real inconvenience to the user.

The reason this matters in the case of the Topping Bxxx amplifiers is that their current limiting kicks in under fairly benign, not extreme, speaker loads. That raises the chances of users experiencing unexpected shutdowns -and that's something worth pointing out.

As I said when the B200 Monoblock was reviewed: it's realistically a 130–140 W amplifier with limited headroom, and it’s not suitable for low-impedance loads.
This becomes evident when comparing its power output into an 8-ohm load at a 60° phase angle versus a 4-ohm load at the same phase angle -the power output actually drops.
And since it's a class A/B amplifier, you also need to factor in the EPDR of the speaker load.

In short: the Topping Bxxx series is designed to excel in low distortion and noise measurements -and they do that very well -but their current delivery and load tolerance have real-world limitations that should be considered and matching speakers should be done with this in mind.

I have the B200 and several of my speakers are missing quite a lot of punch. going to sell them to get the Purifi or Hypex amp with at least 250W in 8ohms.
The B200 sound amazing though but I also watch a lot of movies and like to feel the stuff in my chest :D
