PURIFI finally did a fully purified passive speaker design! The SPK 16 prototype is here - with a PTT tweeter

we just updated the filter for the Munich version
Did you use an active crossover version for Munich or did you modify the passive crossover? Obviously you used the 9040 so no plate amp.

and mounted the latest production tweeters. driven by two 9040 amps and signal from our new DAC (hush hush still a secret). Shocking sound!

No surprise there, same here. Using active filtering and purifi amps for purifi 8" woofers and 4" midrange. Very soon also the putifi tweeter finally (delay caused by me). Cannot wait the extra quality in the high end. But voices f.i. already shockingly real.

Might the new (still secret) dac include RP perhaps? Just as a wild, wild guess; should I postpone a new amp revision for a while?

Are you doing a spk16 but in a 3 way? Still 2 passive radiators?

I am OCD about audio. Having a design by the engineers behind Purifi, a design that is down to the bolt washer, backed by measurements and simulations makes it a no brainer for me. And I do own a KEF Blade One Meta and a JBL 4367, having heard the SPK16 I am also confident proper engineering works. If it doesn’t work - it is not the SPK16…
I echo these sentiments, I simply must have at least one “pure” Purifi design from driver to cabinet

Interesting. Are you guys still working on an in-house SMPS?

how much would i be looking at for crossover parts, assuming generic ones that work as advertised.

yes. been taking too long. it’s in the certification stage.
That's great to hear! Since y'all made a write-up about the motivation behind the op-amp on your "deluxe" version input stage, could we expect a similar write-up on the motivation behind your new SMPS too, pretty please?

Has anybody made or had made the cabinets and/or the crossovers yet?

I’m intrigued by the progress anyone may have made to date.

I’m still in the process of printing my first cabinet but the baffle and back have printed pretty clean. I’ve just set them next to each other to take a few quick pictures.

I have two pieces still to print before I start filling and gluing. Print orientation has a few trade offs but since I’m not in a hurry I just printed in .12 layer height and the layer lines on the front and back faces will be easy clean up when I get there. I’m not expecting the kits I ordered before June so I’ve had other things jump ahead in the print queue but it’s coming along.

Impressive. As I’m largely a Luddite, 3D printing still seems not unlike a spot of sorcery to me.

So, alas, rather than try to learn a new skill I’m still condemned to trying to find a CNC shop.

One more (likely asinine) question gents; is it possible to remove the waveguide from the tweeter so that I can have it sprayed the same colour as the cabinet?

I’m not worried about any warranty loss, only how much of a difficult task it will be to perfectly realign the tweeter with the waveguide afterwards..,?
