Purifi 1ET6525SA - alternative power supply modules

It becomes increasingly likely that I'll build my own 1ET6525SA amplification, and the preferred solution would be monoblocks. The plan so far is 1ET6525SA with Neurochrome buffers, Neutrik XLR sockets, Neutrik Speakon and Neutrik PowerCON for power. Chassis will probably be modushop or having parts milled regionally to assemble myself. The amps will be placed/mounted hidden, thus monoblocks might make sense from a thermal perspective and not just by the main driving force - vanity. Doubt there are any notable advantages for my ears compared to eg Apollon's entry level stereo box.

The typical Power supply would be SMPS 1200 A400, but I believe I have spotted SMPS 400 A400 used with 1ET6525SA too.

The accessible power is way above my needs for the speakers in mind (Arendal 1961 monitors) and my modest decibel requirements , thus I would be interested in learning if there are alternative power supplies providing lower - say below 300w/4ohm compatible with the 1ET6525SA modules, doing justice to the modules wattage set aside?

Is SMPS 400 A400 a feasible and good option, or are there others? I note that March P282 (stereo) delivers 2 x 285 w / 4ohm which is just about right for my perceived needs but I do not know which power supply is being used for that one.

If proceeding, it will be my first build ever of any electronic device, thus speak to me like the child I am.

There is a thread over at DIYAudio on this subject. The gist is that the Hypex SMPS400AXXX series power supplies lack the VDR output (gate drive supply voltage, see post #5), and if you wants to use a SMPS400AXXX, you'll have to figure out how to supply VDR to the Purifi amp module. Jan Didden provided a design of such in post #16.

After some discussions, Jan concluded that using the recommended SMPS1200A400 simply was the sensible choice.

Newbie question about Power supply for Purifi Amp module

Hi all, I have a newbie question about the power supply for Purifi amp module. I am thinking of building a linear power supply for the amp as I have a spare toroid transformer lying around (removed from a dead amp). Now the issue is that the transformer has 4 x 50V (6A each) secondaries...

I read that thread a while ago, including the reference to Micro-Audio (600w), might have been the SMPS 600 xxx (discontinued) I have mixed up with the 400. The March 282 made me curious if there were a sensible option to the 1200, but I probably should put that line of inquiry to rest. The power is way over the top for my present and foreseeable future needs, I don't really play loud ever. Might be I should just surpress the desires and sober up with Hypex NC250MP, doubt they will be stressed to the max.....

Got some feedback from the good people at Purifi, and besides Hypex SMPS1200A400 their alternative recommendation is Micro Audio SMPS1K-G. I will stick to that advice if moving down the diy Purifi path.
