Erin had measured the FR5 and FR10 and got it loan by PS Audio, so they obviously had interest in the results.So....I am confused by this. Aren't these the guys that say measurements don't matter etc?
All the gear and no idea? Obviously you have to know how to use the equipment, how to interpret the results and how to modify the design (that might be the hard part!).They also had APx555 to measure their electronics and still some really bad measuring DACs came out... So not sure what this will accomplish.
OTOH I know other manufacturers with no Klippel NFS that out out excellent measuring speakers using simpler measuring tools. Goes to show that intent is what matters!
Chris gave us the scoop a month and a half agoCongrats @Chris Brunhaver !![]()

Looks like PS Audio finally got a Klippel NFS system:

Imagine building some of the best speakers there are but having to bend to the will of Kipple accuracy for marketing purposes.
OK, I will admit that I am old, but whenever I see or hear the word "influencer", this thought occurs to me. For every influencer, there are probably dozens, hundreds, or even thousands of "influencees". I try and try to come up with a synonym for "influencees" and the best I can come up with is "sheep" or possibly "lemmings". The whole concept boggles my aging (but still functioning) mind. What is convenient with "the best speakers", that's you don't have to measure them. You just pay for a review where an influencer would certify hearing theirs holographic quality.
Imagine having state of the art lab equipment at your disposal, but some senior's ears have final say over your designImagine building some of the best speakers there are but having to bend to the will of Kipple accuracy for marketing purposes.
"Followers" ? But lemmings is good too IMHO.I try and try to come up with a synonym for "influencees"
You're confusing instruments, which are art, with speakers and electronics, which are tools. It is 1716, and Antonio Stradivari’s violin is rejected because it did not measure well enough.![]()
You can't build "some of the best speakers there are" without the proper SOTA tools to do so.Imagine building some of the best speakers there are but having to bend to the will of Kipple accuracy for marketing purposes.
Uh huh.All I'm saying is didn't miss the beauty and emotion because you're busy staring at a computer screen.![]()

If you're admiring a speaker's/Amp's/Converter's beauty and emotion, then you've truly lost the plot and I wish you a speedy resipiscence. All I'm saying is didn't miss the beauty and emotion because you're busy staring at a computer screen.![]()
