They have to be much better, this is not a cheap speakerI'll be very surprised if it measures anywhere near as good as the RTM-10.

I'm pretty sad they abandoned plans for a built in servo sub. They must have totally redone the design at some point. My feelings precisely, Richard. Let's see how it turns out when folks get their hands on them. PSA could focus on performance as you suggested. I would rather they focus on reaching the goal of affordable performance for all their other products. In my career I helped many companies who became overconfident with success and overreached. Most were family owned companies with few effective checks on planning and decision making at the top.
Making superb speakers, and making them well, is no trivial matter. Aside from performance, it is the customers of companies that overreach that end up paying the bill through higher prices. PSA recently raised prices, ostensibly to pay for the higher costs of parts and shipping. I've no doubt that what seems like two years of developmental delays for the FR-30 cost a pretty penny.
I personally would not buy a PSA product at this time. As a former customer, I am highly disappointed with the promise of an exceptional speaker at a reasonable price that never came. An entry level PSA speaker may eventually arrive, but I am not holding my breadth.
But that's me. I hate to see companies on a downward slide and I hope that does not happen to PSA. I hope there are enough wealthy audiophiles to buy FR-30s and the speakers can get them closer to audio nirvana. Meantime, I continue my nirvana journey through very competitive products that cost far less.
I like the look of them but I'm a sucker for white equipment in general.Possibly the most boring ugly design of a speaker ever. It needs to sound infinitely better than it looks.
confident enough to not showing any, you know, they must sound rightI like the look of them but I'm a sucker for white equipment in general.
Annoys me that companies go to all the effort of a fancy web page with lots of pictures but no measured performance data.
if they are so confident in the product where's the harm in showing that?
Why does it need 2 tweeters?
One on the back, one on the front. So, maybe it's a wonky omni-directional design. Who knows.I'd guess to match sensitivity to the mid and bass. Otherwise top end would droop.
Perhaps he's not as tall as he appears in photos.
I hope you can make it and report back.Maybe I can convince my friend to pull out the Mercedes one of these days for a quick cruise up to Boulder. We live in Colorado Springs and Boulder isn't too far away, except for the fact that you have to drive through Denver and that sucks...
Go around it, we do. Prettier and not much longer, especially if traffic is high. I25--to H85 to I470 then H93 and slide in the back door.Maybe I can convince my friend to pull out the Mercedes one of these days for a quick cruise up to Boulder. Huh? What difference does PSA have to do with Harman? The FR30 is being completely made in China.I commend PS Audio on USA jobs not Harmon sacking US work force and charging a premium for slave wage Indonesian Labour . I hope the speaker project succeeds but I wonder how the Planar midrange handles the lower end of it's range - crucial for that to be really low in distortion but I have my doubts if they have solved that
