Good afternoon everyone, I need to find a solution for my boxes.

The thing is that the pair I have, 804s, are heavy, about 35kg (70lb) and the shape is not very firm, if someone bumps them they can even tip over.

I've had them for 15 years, but now I'm worried not about the boxes, but about my little grandson, when he comes to visit me, he's still a 1-year-old child and walks everywhere, and I'm afraid he'll go to one of them and eventually tip over on top of him.

I've tried to find a solution but nothing has pleased me yet. I've been looking on Amazon to see some kind of support that actually works.

Since I'm going to Orlando next week, I'd like to buy one to bring with me, I live in Brazil. If you can give me any suggestions,

I'd appreciate it.

Thanks

This is also something I am thinking about with my tower speakers. In a year or so my kid will be a threat to herself and the gear.

My first idea was to attach the speaker to the wall with a chain or cable or something. But I like @DVDdoug's idea better.

Get a large piece of wood or MDF. Drill holes where the foot spikes normally go. Get flathead screws that can go through the bottom of the board into the speaker, (use the same threading that the spikes use) and attach the speakers to the board. This will significantly increase the force you need to push the speaker over.

It should be cheap and effective, and you can remove them easily when you don't need it anymore.

And you don't need to drill holes in your wall like my dumb idea... :D

Hi, look at the photo of what I did to hold the boxes together. I used Velcro, wrapping it around the furniture. I think this solves the problem.

Now, I'd like to ask about the base I'm using. My floor is wood, and I put a base on it, which has feet, and then I put a piece of rubber between it and the box. The box has no feet. Do you think it's okay, or would you do it differently?

Thank you.

I would put the strap a little higher or use a second strap.

Thanks, the only problem I see with adding another one is that the tape will pass through the middle of the speaker, I don't know how much damage that could cause. Another thing, do you think the way the box is placed on the floor with the support and without the box is okay?
