Proper Metal music (no pony tails or choral crap)

Oh,

Well, I kinda lost real interest in Metal some 20 years ago.

What i still play with some regularlity (but less and less!) though is Metallica, Megadeth, Metal Church, Testament, and Anthrax.
and, but this is Symfo/Metal? Dreamtheater.
The latest Dreamtheater album (Parasomnia) is actually quite good.

I still like the old school trash metal from Metallica and Megadeth. I don't listen a lot to their later work. Certainly not Metallica.

I'm more into (certainly not exclusively) deathmetal these days. I'm re-discovering old bands and getting into the more technical and underground new bands.

This is only kinda BM, but I like it a lot. Production seems decent too.

I don't dislike it.
I'm a but confused by the need some bands feel to sprinkle a layer of BM over their non-BM music. As if you need to have the BM label attached to your style of music to be successful in the metal-scene these days. (I don't think that's true at all!) Many "blackened _______-metal" bands these days.
Luckily this example you give is certainly, by far, not the worst offender. :)

Indeed it is:D

These guys have been playing Death Metal since forever and they have released a quite nice record this year:

However, they haven´t surpassed this classic:

That’s an interesting perception - I usually get the impression that calling something black metal is more likely to shrink your audience.

I’m a fan of genres being mashed together when it’s done well. The latest Igorrr for example (which I don’t know where to begin classifying) is in my top handful of new releases.

I listened to this a few weeks ago - it was good musically, but what’s up with black metal bands whose production makes it sound like they recorded on a 1980s boom box?
It could be seen as a film deliberately shot in black and white...

It suits the aesthetic, beauty through dirt and filth ;)

I've listened to the Igorrr album. It's indeed a nice blend of very different styles of music.

Got to see these ladies live in Lakewood, Ohio a few weeks ago, still kind of in shock, never thought it would happen. Same feeling as when I got to see the original Black Sabbath at Ozzfest in Pittsburgh. I can die happy now, unless they come close again, then I need to live a little longer, lol.

I'm hoping for them to return to Mexico City with a headliner show, last time was in a not so good festival with a limited set so I skip it (kicking my self for not going... hard).

Link shows "Video not available" and you didn't mention who "these ladies" are!
So who are they, pray tell?

Hmm, that's weird, I can see the video, and I assume @muza_1 can, too. The band is Lovebites from Japan, the song I posted is "Where's Identity" from their last EP, a nice thrasher of a tune..
They just announced their new album will be out in February, can't wait!!

I can see the other clips you posted, maybe that one is geo-blocked in Australia for some reason?
Anyway thanks a lot, they look good, will have a listen!

That song is great, looking forward to the new album with this lineup, the last singer I didn't care for too much.

Me too, I have some of their older records but didn't follow up until I saw this video, really good song and new singer, second old band that resurrected in the last few months the other being Coroner.

Different licensing and rules in different countries means what works fine in one may not be visible in another. If you add text for band name and song or album instead of just the youtube media then people can find it in other media, or elsewhere on youtube if they're interested.
