I'm experiencing a connection problem with my dac and pc setup. I've switched from using Foobar2000 with a Windows 10 Laptop to Lyrion Music Server with the Squeezer app on a Windows 11 PC. The DAC Is a Project Audio Stereo DS DAC, 1st generation. The new PC is a Maxtang N100. On my previous setup, I was able to reconnect the USB going from DAC to PC without losing signal to my phone app remote. On the new setup I do the same thing and I can't reconnect without restarting the DAC first then the PC. What do I need to do so I don’t need to restart the DAC and PC each time I do this?

Hey, first thing is to probably check Win11 settings about USB power management and selective suspend, as Win11 handles USB audio devices a bit differently to Win10.

In Device Manager, USB Root Hub, Power Management tab, disable, i.e. uncheck “allow the computer to turn off this device to save power".

In Control Panel, Power Options, Advanced settings., turn off USB selective suspend.

Driver wise, is windoze using a generic Win11 USB driver? If so, maybe check if the DAC has its own manufacturer custom driver to install.

I updated the driver on the PC for the DAC from the windows generic when I setup the Maxtang. Yesterday, in control panel-device manager I changed the settings for USB controllers power management to 'off' for allow this comp to turn off this device to save power. I'll check again I clicked generic USB Hub. I did it on the USB that connected to the DAC only. Didn't change the mouse or keyboard. Those are normally unplugged from the Maxtang and only added to repair or update it. I ll try again with the USB power management settings and see if I can get it to work like it did before. I unplugged and plugged in the DAC yesterday but didn't see a change.

I did check off generic USB hub in settings. The previous source device was a Dell Precision m4700 laptop with a loud fan, and didn't have problems with the USB being disconnected and reconnected. WIth the Maxtang it always needs to be restarted with the DAC to connect. Can it be there is a drop in USB cable power going to the DAC from the Maxtang? Would a possible solution be a USB cable that stays powered constantly like a USB hub for hard drives and other devices?
