Look for an "advanced" tab or button in the router's "network" or "internet" settings. Most modern routers will let you change whether DNS address is automatically received from the ISP or set manually. See pic of my router showing where I changed DNS. Some routers may not let you do this, and you temporarily have to copy sheeting like IP address, subnet mask and reuse them.yes it is set to: Get the DNS IP from your ISP automatically.
So change it to manually set to.....?
Looks like it wants two if set manually.
That's great - I think the OP has been trying the same to get the update!I got the update here in France last month. I used the firmware update option in the Fosi IOS app.
Cheers mate, same to you.nice to see you @JSmith
LoL, nah, nothing like that.did you see any hardware jumpers inside this thing?...like "do not allow updates"![]()
Much better, glad to hear.Fosi Support got back to me and gave detailed instructions on how to update manually
Sounds like it's a Bluetooth remote as opposed to IR. Having to re-pair would be a deal breaker for me - I'm hoping yours is faulty. Err, no I'm not, but you know what I mean! The one gripe I have is the remote has to be re-paired if you power the S3 down. Anyone else have this issue?
Yes, it's BT paired, so don't have to point at the streamer. The gripe is the BT switch has to be turned on via the app and then re-pair/select the remote.Sounds like it's a Bluetooth remote as opposed to IR. Yes.So the unit forgets BT was set to be on, if you power cycle?
Mine does not do that. It works every time. Maybe try to "forget" it and re-pair?Has anyone commented on whether their remotes do the same? As you will have thought, this may be a bug in in the unit's firmware, but could be a hardware fault in the networking module. If it were a general problem, I'd not buy one of these!
I don't know about OPs issue but I have quite a few things that use BT - keyboards, page turners and the like (none for my HiFi) - and every so often I have to re-pair for no clear reason, but definitely not on every power-up.Mine does not do that.
