Hello Folks,

some of you will know that I own a pair of Heissman Acoustics DXT-MON Bookshelf-Speakers. They are well constructed and are sounding great so far.
Last time I have seen an announcement on a 2nd hand forum about a pair of ProAC Tablette 10 Signature speakers. The conditions of this speakers are very good, more or less as new ones, a few years old including massive stands. The price was very okay so i could not withstand.
In the next time this speakers will arrive at my home and im very curios how they will sound. I have heard some ProAC's many years ago at the german HIGH-END in Munich. So far as I could remember, they were sounding "not bad".
So be patient, time will show how this experiment will go ;-)

Greetings from Austria,

Hello Folks,

i will do it short and painless:
Placement: in 20m2 room, on stands, less than 1m from the wall, 2m distance from each other, 1,5m to side wall
Source: Phono, WiiM Ultra
Amp: Yamaha A-S2100, WiiM Vibelink

Sond comparison DXT-MON : ProAC Tablette 10 Signature
Bass: 1:0
Treble: 1:1
Naturality: 1:0
Maximum SPL: 1:0
Space: 1:0
-----------------------
Under the line, there is absolutely no chance for the Tablette to stand up against DXT-MON.

Additonally I have set up the room-correction with WiiM-Ultra. In factory settings the Ultra would boost bass level +10db (!) or more. The works only till low levels and then the small bass driver is "ready for leaving the cabinet". That is not useful at all. At low levels it souded much more voluminous but "bass" was also not that precise as ist comes out from DXT-MON without any room correction.
Female voices are sounding not so bad from the Tablette. The biggest weakness in my opinion is the missing bass fundament. there is more or less nothing under 70Hz.

Hello Folks,

so the last news after a few week`s of tablette-operation:
The things are changing!
My setup looks now as following:
- WiiM Ultra as source (qubuz, yt-music, internet-radio, phono-pre)
- WiiM Vibelink as amp for the tablettes
- HifiAkademie PowerAmp P6 as Amp for the Subwoofer
- Visaton TIW250 in 30L closed cabinet as subwoofer (DIY)
- Subwoofer management completely done by WiiM Ultra, crossover frequency about 70Hz
- Room correction below 300Hz done by Wiim Ultra
I'm let them play without any expectations, with lower levels, medium levels and very different kind of music styles.
After some hours of listening: No fatigue, nice sounding, unobtrusive, smooth and voices as natrual as it can get. so far so good.
Noticeable is the following: After listening to this setup and some hours later, a feeling inside me is in developement that tells me to start the next listening session to enjoy this hearings again. Never had this intense feelings before with my other speaker, the dxt-mon... and this is a little bit strange.
so stay tuned.

I have the same Tablets and get bass below 70hz in my room. They really are designed to be close to the wall, not being 1m out and this is what ProAc advice being a sealed box. Whist they are no bass monsters I have always found the bass tight, fast and full for their size. My rooms a similar size maybe a little bigger than 20m2 but not by much.
