One of things Fulcrum prioritizes is very high output in its PA speakers. Not really the case here, but I would really like to know what guidelines for on and off axis smoothness are used internally, using what research. They obviously care about them, but not enough to ensure a CD-like response.

well, pretty sure the Presonus, as a cheap product geared towards home studios doesn't have this:

...Presonus, as a cheap product geared towards home studios...
They also make relatively cheap PA gear
I have a pair of the discontinued SL328AI

They are truly not hifi but they do go loud

I wonder if most inference issues would have been fixed if they just used a round shaped horn with better curving

On the topic of coaxes and waveguides Peerless seems to have come up with a very curious solution:

Unfortunately they seem to have gone OEM only, so it's unlikely that there will be reviews by the DIY crowd.

with Temporal Equalization™ and Coaxial Speaker Coherence Alignment - is there any useful audible effect from these features?
Just marketing speak.
There used to be an iOS app that would allow WiFi control of GEQ, groups, mute, solo etc. But that was dropped from the app store a long time ago rendering these forgotten orphans.

Simple,
At $295 each I might have given it a Not Terrible vote.
At $899 each, forgetaboutit. POOR

no guys, not marketing. you understand it wrong. it doesn't control the speaker in a whole, but the flaws of traditional compression driver/horn combos:

Yeah, I read Gunnes's articles a long time ago.
My question was about the audible beneficial effect. Heard (or not) by the owner of a specific model.

I never heard those speakers, but I have compression drivers in my setup. If you ever heard one in a home setup you know they can be a little harsh in the treble sometimes. that would be the smearing this technology reduces. I do have the impression though that in-room magnitude and phase correction takes care of the issues.....But I would have to be able to compare to be sure.

I also. 4594 and dcx464 last years. And d2430 before. It's been a long time since I've listened to metal diaphragms at home.
I'll reread Gunnes someday.

One can (or could before) send David any loudspeaker and get Temporal Equalization™ for it.

This might be what Presonous did lol.
The webpage actually states this speaker has TQ.
Overall pretty disappointing....though we don't know which compromises were made. What kind of compression driver is in this, for example? why would it distort at such a low level? And why cross it at 2.2KHz when compression drivers go much lower than dome tweeters?

Here is a somewhat comparable speaker from Fulcrum Acoustics: https://www.fulcrum-acoustic.com/product/rx699-6-coaxial-loudspeaker/

They ship to anyone as long as you can afford enough units. Some folks here have done group buys on their drivers fairly recently.

Hi,

I just bought (still not arrived) pair of these.

Wonder how they perform, what level of input does it need to get the 133dB advertised SPL?

Have you ever compaired with D&B Audiotechnik or Martin Audio stuff
( I have some Martin CDD… they are super even dispersion and crazy loud… their specs sheet is pretty conservative… max spl is at CF 2 only {6dB} whereas others for ex. D&B uses CF 4 {12dB} so on paper they sounds louder…)
As I know they just replaced the iPad control SW to a more modern one at Presonus so we could both use Q-mix or universal control apps… not sure…
Thx
Adam

The same tweeter structure can seen on Nexo P series…
P12 looks good on paper, but not in a home… 140dB… can buy on ebay 1500£

Wonder how they perform against Tannoy VXP or Martin Audio CDD
