Presonus Monitor Repair

I've never even heard of that capacitor brand before lol let alone expect to see it in a western brand studio monitor(?)

There are capacitors and there are crapacitors :)

And Kaboomcitors

And Incontinencitors

My learning is that not to buy active loudspeakers since you don't know the quality of the hidden inside amplifiers. Maybe one can trust the companies providing professional speakers.

Well, a "professional speaker" can be 500 $ per pair or >5000 per piece...
I would not expect the same parts quality from both.
A modular solution would IMHO be very nice: Module failed, send it in, get a new (or refurbished) one.
Instead of risking transit damage of sensitive loudspeakers.

I found the same caps, and extremely similar boards in a Mackie MR524 that failed within a month of purchase. Contacted Mackie/Loud Industries for warranty, and ... Crickets.
The caps tested fine, one of the TDA7294 failed due to a solder bridge.
I ended up gutting an old Sonos One, made my own back panel, and mounted it in it's place. Works great, Trueplay (Sonos RC) works fantastically.
BTW, apart from some self noise, I was very impressed by the stock MR524. Sounded really good, I preferred them over my JBL 305 MKII.

Edit: Corrected spell check :)

The approach to these Genelec 8380 results seems excellent to me

Isn’t that what’s called passive speakers with an external amp?
Not automatically - this can be done "fully active" with digital crossover and a separate power amp for every driver.
Outside of the module would be only the wiring.
Added bonus: better cooling.

There are devices where I replace all the capacitors as a preventative measure because it's clear that they're extremely cheap or counterfeit.

I conducted some research, and here's what I discovered: Cap-Top branded capacitors are produced by Ligao Electronic Industry Products (Kunshan) Co., Ltd., a small company established in Jiangsu Province in 2005 with a modest registered capital of USD 300,000 and investment from a Hong Kong-based owner. Records from China’s State Administration for Market Regulation reveal that the company has faced lawsuits from other firms regarding quality issues with its processed products. It was also continuously included in the “Seriously Dishonest Enterprises” registry by China's Market Supervision Administration due to "abnormal business practices", leading to the government revoking its business license a few years ago. Such severe penalties are not commonly issued in China unless a company's product quality or business operations have been significantly subpar.

To my knowledge, most Chinese manufacturers produce much higher quality products than this case suggests.

The images attached display the original records from China’s official market regulation database, for those interested in further investigation.:)

The entire amp module usually comes off like in this case. And I've tried asking for Aego M's replacement amp, but it costs as much as a second-hand speaker.

I've even had counterfeit capacitors in my hands that even had better electrical values than the printed brand.
However, this says absolutely nothing about durability, especially when exposed to high frequencies.

Could anyone show pic of what is different inside a good quality capacitor compared with low quality capacitor?

Am curious.

A capacitor is a VERY simple component. The differences between a cheaply made vs. quality capacitor would come down to material quality and workmanship. The overall design would be the same.

Here is a cross section. Anode, cathode, and dielectric, that’s it. I guess the venting (not shown) could be different somehow.
