I purchased this 2.1 package from B&H for $500 2 weeks ago. It is $200 cheaper than the equivalent JBL 305P MKII/LSR310 package (B&H includes TRS cables with JBL package)

I placed the E5's on 36-inch stands and maxed out the carpet spikes in front/minimum height in rear and used Blu-tak to "weld" the monitors in place resulting in tweeters at ear height. The front of the E5's are at 24" from the rear wall and I placed the front of the T10 at the same distance from the rear wall per suggested setup by PreSonus, resulting in much tighter bass in my environment. This is one sub that should NOT be placed against the wall or in a corner. I used pink noise to calibrate the monitors and sub but then had to greatly reduce the level of the T10 to get the proper balance with music sources. Bass sounds reasonably tight and free from boom on almost all recordings with the T10 crossover set at 120Hz (24dB per octave) and the E5's low cut filters set at 100Hz (12dB per octave).

The E5 monitors sound clean and free from tweeter harshness and midrange boxiness - truly amazing for the price. In my nearfield setup max SPLs are about 90dB but the system will play much LOUDER if you need it. I used the LEDR "shaker" tones from a Chesky CD to test imaging and was pleasantly surprised to find that the system accurately reproduced both the vertical and "over" test tones and also could position the extreme left and right tones beyond the width of the speakers.

Music sources include ripped CD's using Apple Lossless with iTunes at 44/16 and Tidal tracks at 44/16 and 96/24 and included classical and jazz as well as pop from country to hard rock. Overall I am very happy with the way the system sounds and for the price I can't find anything to complain about. The system certainly does not have the resolving power of better monitors from Neumann and sealed box subs from Dynaudio at many times the price but for my bedroom setup they have exceeded my expectations. Used with my 2018 iMac 27, Topping DX7s and Canare L-4E6S Star Quad XLR cables, along with Sennheiser HD600's running in "balanced" mode.
