I am going to stop here. And no, I am not going to listen to it!

AI listened to it: "PreSonus Eris 3.5 monitors can exhibit various types of noise, including hiss, buzzing, and clicking sounds, especially at power-up. These noises can stem from ground loops, RF interference, or issues with the speakers' internal components".

Lots of technical issues being mentioned on forums and in reviews.

Except the Edifier MR3 is normally about the same price (no Prime Day deal on them here), has similar inputs and outputs, and performs a lot better. Presonus just aren't trying.
Yes, "cheap" sometimes means more than just the price. Sometimes it can even be expensive, but still made "cheaply".
Or, sometimes, better than the price would suggest. The Germans say "preiswert" - literally "worth the price".

Wow , thats almost bad enough to put me off my breakfast beer.., almost .

Its rare to see such a disaster these days , shocking results were quite common back when Amirm first started testing stuff .

Thanks for the effort mate , maybe a member could take these on, strip them and see if they can make a half decent speaker out of it .., or maybe put them in a skip !

Paradoxically, I am strictly a weekend tippler, but needed an emergency beer for breakfast after reading this.

Looks very familiar, this speaker is probably a very volatile investment.

Hair of the dog ay mate? ;)

More just indulging my drywaller privileges , the best drywall guys drink beer for breakfast!

The hardest working guys , mostly Mexican in the US, likely kick off with a ..,

Lucky for me im not only in the drywall brotherhood but also in the moderator brotherhood so .., i get to have 2 beers in the morning... .. .

Obviously a terrible speaker, but it's $89 pr. I would say first and foremost: Plug the port, and do some eq. Should lend itself to EQ below 1000 hz pretty well. And, of course, put it on the desktop and don't play it too loud.

I really think if Danny got his hands on these and worked his magic we could have something rivaling the mid level Kefs, Revels and Ascis.

As always, a great review, Amir.

These are better than the stereo record player units that my teenage friends had in the early 1970's.
Quality wasn't so important, if they could play their favourite songs for pocket-money prices.
Those record players were the inspiration for me to make my own stereo system, and so began a long and arduous journey.
Sounds like another reason to avoid them! ;)

A speaker not even Randy the Cheap Audio Man could recommend.
I laugh because it's absolutely true....
However, I like Randy the Cheap Audio Man. I like his style, his cup of coffee, his wit. I find him a fun entertainer. Obviously, I wouldn't make a purchase based on his recommendations, but all in all, it's a channel I enjoy watching.

Speaking of these speakers... there's not much to say. They suck.

I actually own the gen1 version of these. For casual YouTube or Zoom they are just fine and a step up from most computer monitors. I got them because they needed to fit in a limited space on my desk. I can't imagine anyone who would possibly think you could do any sort of profession mixing on these, ridiculous.

I'm happily trying the new EQ offered on top of what I came up with based on Erin's tips but, honestly, for spoken word, not a big difference. These are in the same room as my real speakers so I never really listen to music on them.

Maybe someone can point them to REW and a Umik or something?

Wow, Amazon's reviews show 80% gave it 5 stars with another 11% giving it 4 stars!

I appreciate our reviewers, and AmirM sets the tone, for politeness in reviews of measured performance below expectation and what is technically possible.

Science is science and does not need vitriol and ego.

The ASR Pink Panther glyph is appreciated and unique.
