I have been a member of AES and SMPTE, the Audio Engineering Society and the Society of Motion Picture and Television Engineers.
This is a (long) technical talk on mixing and mastering movie sound for the home from 2019. It is a deep discussion of soundstage for systems with more than 2 speakers in a use case where it matters.
Speakers are Lon Neumann, with a very impressive resume, now running an immersive sound association, ASR's Floyd Toole, Harman International, Brian Vessa, Sony Pictures, and Scott Kramer, Netflix.
Neumann discusses dialog audibility and the algorithmic sound processing in ATSC over the air digital broadcast
Toole discusses speaker measurements and audience preference
Vessa talks about sound mixing and conversion to support the artistic intent
Scott Kramer discusses dialog and specs in the context of the Netflix corporate culture* M&E is music and effects, and the viewers are members. They have a complaint system, which includes audio, so they have data.
* The Netflix founder culture deck is a classic read. It includes their cloud software design philosophy which may be interesting to ASR participants from computing https://www.eosworldwide.com/blog/103242-eos-netflix-culture-deck
