Pre tariff purchases?

Anyone making any pre tariff purchases in order to beat the price increase? I hate that the US can't match the prices the Chinese manufacturers have been offering for exciting cheap products, but maybe this will spur some US based companies to innovate like Wiim or Fosi. I'll admit I grabbed a Bose Bluetooth speaker for my wife (I am not a Bose fan btw but I know she will like it in her office).

Not trying to start a political argument here, just wondering since most of the new inexpensive audio products are from China and who knows where this will end.

Electronics tariff exemption was just announced. Not sure which electronics equipment will be covered under the new tariff exemptions but it’s encouraging to hear.

Perhaps we have Tim Cook to thank: My understanding is that the $1M he contributed towards the inauguration was personal money, not Apple's. Aside from more boutique and specialty products, I'm pretty sure that most Americans would not care for jobs manufacturing consumer electronics.

I think we will quickly see a run on US supplies of anything that isn't pre-marked up. The uncertainty is to the consumers advantage only until producers know more about their real future costs of production. It helps to know a little about their supply chain.

Either way, I wouldn't be on the fence now about buying an audio item if it's in stock. There is a high chance it's more expensive soon, and maybe significantly more expensive.

On the other hand, don't buy something you can't justify given your economic means.

This was precisely my point of posting. I wonder how this may even affect US companies. The chips and capacitors are probably mostly from Asia.

I ordered an external r core power supply from China on April 8. Information on shipping was initially quite limited. When the delivery date passed I checked with the vendor on 4/27 and they said due to lack of shipping options and U.S. tariffs they could not fill the order and offered a refund. This item was apparently not part of the exemption.
