Pre-amps with variable high and low pass filters?

As an alternative to a pre-amp with high and low pass filters: many subs have high and low pass filters built in. Pre-amp out to sub; high pass from sub back to amp; or in my case with passive subs, to satellites (L&R speakers).

Hmmm…

Would this work to cut out the low frequency from the signal going back to the amp, then? Or does the sun just take the signal it needs and send the full signal back out?

Thanks! They look decent but don’t seem to have rca inputs for turntable, only balanced line ins or digital.

Would I need to get a phone stage for the turntable which would send out balanced signal to the ADI?

It depends, here is an example of a subwoofer amp with inputs and outputs.

The output on this model is a DSP filtered signal, both crossovers are provided by the amp, can be used with any preamp/amp combo.
This amp is USB configurable. Some subs provide a remote control so you don't have to crawl around and can mess with the settings from your seat.
Other subs only do half of the crossover. Many plate amps and subs offer pretty sophisticated filters and correction, but there are so many configurations you do need to check.

Do you know of any you might recommend?

Yeah I’m running an svs sb2000 and a Minx X201. Maybe I’ll try that for now coming from my SU-9 and see if it works
