As someone who is a member of, and visits plenty of other audiophile forums, I have to say that every time I come back to ASR it is a blessed relief.
I’m talking about in terms of the design, functionality and user interface.
I am continually aghast at how awful and dated most other audiophile forms are: useless or poorly implemented search features, awful layout, no “ remembering where you last left off viewing the thread,” poor or nonexistent editing functions, difficulty including images or media, and just visual nightmares to interact with. And so many of them are not up-to-date in providing a proper UI for responsive design for smart phones, etc.
I mean, a place like Canuck Audio Mart is virtually unreadable on a smart phone.
Even the AVSForum, of which I’ve been a long time member, is a psychedelic nightmare to navigate with the adds.
And don’t get me started on the Stone Age interface of Audiogon or Audio Asylum!
I know some other forums use the same format, but I’m just glad Amir actually picked a 21st century format for ASR.
Thanks Amir!
