Hi guys,

I did some testing and my power supply/power is noisy. The switching power supply is rated 9V at 5A.
I have a 26,000 mAh anker power blank which is much quieter but can supply 2A at 9V.
The DAC works fine but I assume it is not so simple as it is not getting enough power.
Are there any dangers from using it like this?
Thanks!

If you’re experiencing ground loops then use balanced connections or the optical TOSLINK input

No ground loops, and really noise is not audible when listening to music, it is heard when you boost the volume of the amp and nothing is playing.
I cannot use neither balanced nor Toslink but thanks for the suggestion.

Tempotec Serenade idsd
and yes - the battery is removing any noise. I boost the volume of the DAC and Amp to max and there is no noise whatsoever.

Can you tell us you DAC and powersupply models?
I am looking at specs for DACs I have, 830mA (430mA at idle) is the highest I have, and it includes a powerful headphone amp and DSP.

A 2A max battery would be more than enough for the DACs I own, and worst-case would last for ~30 hours at maximum with your battery’s capacity.

Just checked actually.
As I bought it used I assumed that everything was original inside, but I just checked a review and the snapshot is showing 9V 2A
So we may close this thread.
