I've had a Monster Power HTS 3600 MKII. It's been protecting my main system for over 18 years and thinking it's time to look for a replacemenet. Have had no issues with it. I do like that it has "high current" amp outputs. I don't think it "improves the sound" over plugging in the wall, but it may "hurt the sound less" than a cheap surge protector that may restrains amp current in any way. I like what the Monster Power did - no hum, no equipment noise, no equipment damage with numerous power outages and interruptions over the years.
I tried an APC H10 before that did have an "additional feature" of AVR. However, I did not like that APC - it caused my amps to hum, so it went back.
I was thinking about the Furman Elite 15 PFI. Is that a worthy replacement? Given how expensive the rest of the system is, I can easily spend ~$2k, but really just want something that is modern and works as well if not better than the Monster Power HTS 3600 MKII did in filtering noise and protecting the equipment. I know Monster gets bad hype, but I was happy with the product, but I know they don't last forever. I do have very high current amps (Two Parasound JC-1 monoblocks run in high bias mode), so having high current amp outputs that actually work is a must.
