Can someone recomend a decent heavy duty surge protector power bar that I can plug a couple of class D mono block amps into.
I just dont have the extra outlet space to have each plugged into a wall outlet.
I kind of like the audioquest power quest power conditioners but I know the power conditioners are just snake oil
I like the outlet style on them but I dont have the extra space to put in a unit that is that big. I only have space for a power bar.

I would love to here some thought on this

surge protector power bar
What you want here is a fast response time, low clamping voltage and a high joule rating... and possibly individually switched outlets if needed.

Not sure what Country you're in, this is US plugs;

Yes this is exactly what type of recomentdation I am looking for.

Oh and country is Canada. so USA 110 V power.

The Tripp Lite ISOBAR are excellent, second that recommendation.

Definitely a good idea to get a metal one as these things can set themselves on fire....
Most metal ones are also grounded so an additional measure of protection.

I have a metal Tripp lite isobar unit for my computer desk and one for my stereo and television purchased ten years ago.
When I read in the news the owner sold the company several years ago it made me wonder if the company and quality might change
my next purchase was a unit made by APC

Yes, use a metal surge protector.

If there are more than one protector in the audio system (including components in other systems, with interconnects). It might be good to use the same model for all the protectors.

Choose a protector aimed at the commercial/industrial markets.

Effective surge protection starts at the main circuit panel.

This is great advice as a general rule.
IF anything goes wrong with the internal components, a metal case will most likely contain it. But even if internal components are not destroyed, they can get hot enough to melt plastic and start a fire.
"self extinguishing" ought to be a mandated for safety.
