Hello I am looking for a power amplifier atleast 200 wpc 8 ohms.
There is two i really like Topping B200 and monolith by monoprice.

Am i going into the right direction here ? Which one of these two is better or is there any better recommendations?

Thank you for replying. Really appreciate your valuable responses.

What will you be using them for? Which speakers, pre-amplifier, listening room setup, listening distance, music preferences, SPL expectations, home theater setup, etc.?
This.

It’s impossible to recommend any amps without knowing your requirements. In particular which speakers (with/without sub), room size and what volume you need to be able to achieve.

Additionally this should be moved to the Amplifiers forum. …Mods?

Select ASR members had to forcefully request 'service after the sale' for their 'game-changing' Topping PA5 amplifier that failed under warranty. Consider 'Footnote 1' that Kalman Rubinson added to his review of the Topping DM-7 in Stereophile:

I would select Monoprice over Topping but my first choice would be a $695 Buckeye Amps Hypex NC502MP power amplifier.

Or if you really want Class AB, and if you are not going to use super sensitive speakers, then the Outlaw 2220 monos have the power you are looking for. Class G rail switching so they run cool too.

Hi,
It would help to know a bit more about why you want 200W (per channel, at 8 Ohms)?

Big space to fill? Do you need that power continuously or do you just want headroom for peaks? What speakers are you using etc - as others have asked. There is rarely one simple answer!

I have yet to test the B200 samples I have received. But pretty sure they run circles around anything from monoprice.
Not to derail the thread but where are those in line for getting reviewed? Very interested to see how they measure compared to the b100.

Another option would be a Hypex Nilai 500 stereo build ~ 260 W/channel into 8 ohm. Or if you want more power into <8 ohm loads, a dual mono Nilai 500 build will get you 525 W per channel into 4 ohms.

So i am (also) interesting in class d amp. I narrow search to 1et7040 or Nilai500 (maybe something else ?) based amps which are available in europe from several dealers.

I will use it with Spendor d9.2 floorstanders (90 db, 8 ohm). I know that they has a lot of power but does with dual mono will be any benefit ?
It is classic stereo setup, listening position is 3 -3,5 m. Normal to bit higher llistening volumes..
Thx

Nilai 500 stereo will give all the power you need. The mono gives more power, but only into lower impedance loads where higher current can be delivered. Power delivery into 8 ohm is voltage limited.

I would buy whatever else is available before I get a poweramp from topping / SMSL / Fosi and all those brands.

Plenty of Class A/B manufacturers where you probably don’t need 200 watt to begin with.. plenty class D manufacturers that use hypex modules.
