For speaker: Evolution Acoustics - Micro Ones. I am getting some distortion out of these speakers past 80 db… measured REW. Current amp is old Parasound 23

The distortion is probably not from the amp… I need a new amp regardless and I want it to last for more than just these speakers. Picture of current speakers attached

Budget up to $4k but will spend less if a new class D is sufficient. No need to spend extra for no reason… but I’m not sure if you get what you pay for with amps these days.

I don’t want tube… I want it to be as clinical/transparent/invisible as possible. Will be for mixing music

Buckeye Amps and VTV Amplifier build Hypex- and Purifi-based Amps in the US.
The Buckeye’s seem nice. I have done some research on which would be better, NCOREx or Purifi, but it doesn’t seem like one is better than the other, big picture. The NCORE (without the x) is outdated it seems?

Does everyone agree or can someone point out pro’s and con’s to each? They are far underneath my budget, and I won’t complain haha

I really like my Hypex Nilai stereo kit from Dear Creek Audio, the case is precision machined aluminum, not bent and folded sheet metal like other kits (of course it has nothing to do with the sound ). One negative is there’s a tiny pop sound when powering up.
