My wife and I love Acadia National Park. We come here yearly for 3 wks. between Labor Day and leaf peeping season. It’s normally a very crowded park...these are “relatively” quiet weeks.

From today’s hike.
- A swimming partner who joined me for an afternoon dip in Sargent Pond....and no, Mhardy, I was not flagrant dilecto, or whatever French for buck naked is called...I wore a bathing suit. Sadly, nowadays...somethings just can’t be unseen. I actually took this photo while neck deep in the water. The camera survived.
- Cairns. Acadia has great cairns, and with a telephoto you can line them up like soldiers. Photo taken at 180mm down the western ridge of Mt. Sargent.
- My beloved bride who has put up with me for some forty years that would be really pissed if she knew I put a photo of her on the website. She finds out, we might not make it to forty one. Hiking up Bald peak, upper and lower Hadlock ponds in the background.

Thank you, really nice photos!

The third one is much attractive and impressive as "photography" including one hiker in the view , your beloved bride, in the magnificent landscape, I believe. I do hope and believe you two will make it to forty one and much much longer...

Thank you for your kind words. I only consider myself a fair photographer, but happiest in the world of nature and clicking away at moments that would otherwise be forgotten in time. My insurance against senility... ; )

I took a chance and showed my beloved the photo, and am happy to report 41 yrs. (and hopefully many more) is still on the table!

Some things I got right in this life.

Chambered Nautilus, Waikiki Aquarium, 2014:

Final days of the old International Marketplace in Waikiki circa 2014:

I was never crazy about the place as a kid: To me it seemed dark, humid and filled with Korean ladies selling cheap jewelry. Below, new IMP circa 2019. I can imagine some people not liking the change, but I think there's more value for locals.
