The South Carolina State House ushers in 2023. The same state house that survived General Sherman's burning of the city in 1865.

Happened upon this seldom seen artefact today at our little local ski hill. I had only my phone to document its appearance, and it's never pretty when I use a phone for a camera (nor vice versa) but the subject's ephemeral (so to speak) enough to be worthy of sharing even a poor/fair photograph, I reckon.

The " BUGATTI DIVO " : 6 000 000 €uros... Bugatti plant in "Molsheim" France.
limited at 380km/hour... 235 miles/hour. In some motorways in Deutchland you can drive on the left line with no limitation of speed...
The " BUGATTI CHIRON " is more expensive...
The 100 hundred first cars have been sold 6 months before giving the keys to their owners.

BUGATTI has been founded in 1909 in France.
Black Bugatti : 16 700 000 € x 84 sold in 2022 = 1 402 800 000 €uros >>> $ 1  506  889  814
Actually Volkswagen owns Bugatti and Bentley...

Dump-find Yamaha RX-V1050. Finally took a photo of it unencumbered by other ancillary stuff.
I've grown quite fond of it and find myself using it more and more nowadays.
I use it "as is" for 2-channel music with Polk R200 loudspeakers -- or just the preamp section, sometimes, with my "simple 2A3" (SE 2A3) amplifier and "Frankenaltec" loudspeakers.

For audio, Yamaha has been a company with high quality, good specs, good sound and reasonable prices that has stood the test of time. Mean while Sony has tried to capture markets with things like Trinitron, Beta, SACD, Walkman, Play Station etc., flitting from flower to flower with one new thing after another.

Oh -- I'd suggest that Yamaha has flitted now and again.

FWIW, I think that the Trinitron was a pretty successful product technically and financially.

PS I am something of a Yamaha fanboy, in full disclosure. :)

Yeah me too. Can't remember a Yamaha TV though. Never owned a color TV until I was 28, and indeed it was a Trinitron.;)

My first motorcycle was a used '68 Yamaha Enduro, not as nice as this one. My mom cried the day I brought it home. Mine always ran a little rough. I use to give girls rides on the back it on the way home from high school. A number of times it seemed to work magic on those particular trips, as I figured out to cycle the revs back and forth between 800-900 rpm at stop signs. Those were the days. Long Live Yamaha.

Speaking of Yamaha. :D

I picked up a spray painted Yamaha A-S500 today for €50.
Cheap enough to take a risk on and I suspected it was a silver model. The seller painted it black because it fitted their setup better but it did mean I had a €200-250 amp (second-hand prices) for €50 and some elbow grease.

And yes I will move the Blu-ray player from the top of the vents. I'm still on the lookout for a nice pair of speakers for this one. The Argon Audio's I have now are active speakers.

Awesome price for what i consider a very high value amp at regular prices.

Also great restauration work. Sadly the knobs didn't take the cleaning that well. Any plans to maybe spray paint them silver once more?

I'm surprised the writing didn't come off.
How is the rest of the enclosure?

What is the box between the Scarlet and the Topping?

Again, great bargain for 50€ and good job at fixing it.

@JaccoW what did you use to strip the paint? I am always restoring things and also surprised the lettering stay on.
