Midnight church. Pretty much a pitch black night, no artificial lighting for miles. 20+ second exposure.

That's a timed exposure.Where I live in France - by the Mediterranean Sea - I've never seen a sky so full of stars...
We are lucky if we can get a peak at just a few planets and bright objects due to light pollution.Where I live in France - by the Mediterranean Sea - I've never seen a sky so full of stars...
There are currently [ONLY] 195 certified Dark Sky Places around the world."The International Dark-Sky Association (IDA) is an Arizona-based nonprofit founded in 1988 with the mission "to protect and preserve the world's night skies for present and future generations."

Great images, but not a mole -- it appears to have a tail in the first photo (pre-evisceration, I think...).A common kestrel eats a mouse or mole (difficult to see). It sat on a willow tree 15 m away from our house, and I did not dare to open the door to our balcony afraid that it wouild fly away so shot through the window (hence not the best quality). I also shot a short video.

Taken with a Panasonic GX-9 with PanaLeica 100-400 mm @ 400 mm and cutted.
...Didn't happen. We saw our first kestrel(s) here almost two weeks ago -- early for northern New England. No pictures yet, though.
Yes we have voles in Europe (German: Wühlmaus). But our moles also do have short tails. (EDIT: corrected tails)Great images, but not a mole -- it appears to have a tail in the first photo (pre-evisceration, I think...).
Maybe a vole (if they have voles in Europe?)
zut alors! (or Gott in Himmel, if you prefer)Yes we have voles in Europe (German: Wühlmaus). But our moles also do have short tales.
New Hampshire Audubon was likewise skeptical -- but Mrs. H is a rockstar birder....Didn't happen.
