Step*** Grandchild number four, several seconds after being born. A still shot from a short video.

Obviously a bit upset at being forced out of the warm and snuggy womb... who wouldn't be... free room and free food.

Now life gets real...and now ya gotta earn ya keep.

In the USA when performers played largely for monetary tips the concept was that patrons donated at a container near the stage called "the kitty"; a slang phrase would arise of "feed the kitty." To the left side of this old photo we see a stylized wooden "kitty" cat with it's mouth open leading to a box for securely receiving tips.

Some macro fun. I think this is a Striped Saddlebag Dragonfly.

Our son went through a serious dragonfly phase when he was in high school. He was, and still is, an excellent photographer (yeah... I'm biased...), but two of my all time favorite photos of his are of dragonflies, taken in the very large tract of conservation land* behind out old house in Harvard MA

The only copies I have handy (electronically) are low-res, unfortunately.

I think one if not both of these might have been taken with screw-on "closeup lens" attachments.
