We maintain a couple of poles out in the garden for... well... whomever feels like sittin' atop them.
Today, it was a red-shouldered hawk. Light wasn't great, but I had a good view of it.

auto white balance

bird flew from pole to pole; it was out there hangin' out, lookin' for prey, for 20 minutes or more.

got strafed a couple of times by a crow.
 
American Sioux Indian going by the English name "Turning Bear" seemingly in front of a painted backdrop. This and the 2 other early photos below are by John Alvin Anderson an early chronicler of what is now South Dakota where the English name "Rosebud" Sioux Indians got used.

Station for the New York City subway under the City Hall was originally designed with a passenger platform serving short trains. That and its curve rendered it impractical when the population needed multiple subway cars per train. It's still there underground but in 1945 was closed to passengers.

"America's Birth Certificate" is the nickname of this 1507 WaldseeMueller map which was the 1st map with the word America and the landmass being distinctly apart from the Asian landmass. Only one of these still exists and it's held by the USA Library of Congress.
