Well, it's the Friday of Columbus Day/Indigenous Peoples' Day weekend -- a US federal holiday that, in our part of the world means "hunker down and shelter in place while the
hordes of leaf-peepers* descend on us".

That cynicism aside, we usually get our best autumn weather, and our best autumn colo(u)rs* right around the 10th to 15th of October, so it's actually a win-win.
We're having what the local weather forecasters like to call
Chamber of Commerce weather today (with more predicted for the weekend) I decided to beat the rush and
head downtown to snap a few piccies. Actually, I had to go to the post office anyway

, but it's so freakin' beautiful I brought my camera along, too.
