I'm pretty sure I know what picture I posted, and it certainly wasn't cat.jpg.
Apologies! My mistake. It was the picture from TheBatsear (post 3282) that I misunderstood he was asserting had no red.

I got things completely back to front!

My bad!

:)

Fireflies (or as all of us who spent quality time in or near Charm City, aka Baltimore, MD, know them: lightning bugs) on the evening of the summer solstice: Connecticut River "Upper Valley" (New Hampshire side of the river, in our case).

Possibly we were at "peak lightning bug" for the year last night. Too much skylight from the rising moon (and thick, foggy atmosphere) for stunning contrast (at least with my meagre camera and photography skillz), but still some sense of what I saw in our fields.

Cathedral of REIMS, France.

Given the span of time -- it's kind of a remarkably short list, isn't it?
It makes, roughly, 13 years per pope...
It's fun looking for the pope in some clue period, like the discovery of America (1492), or the council of Nicaea (325 - apparently, the last pope had died more than 120 years before that, and there would be none again for another 140-something... interesting, uh, as in that council was decided what - and what not - to write in the Bible of what nowadays we call the Christian Catholic Religion...)
Or when the Western and Eastern Roman Empires fell, respectively (472 and 1453 AD)

Why does the dark-haired guy on the right have six fingers on each hand?

Jim

I’m more concerned about his arms, and the woman to his left has no mouth.

This is the biggest restaurant in Europe... located in NARBONNE south of France, 35km from where I live...

I've been there many times. you can eat whatever you want... the video is old the price today is 58 euros 1 person.

Some astonishing pictures, thankyou.

In Australia, the most erudite and always lovely meteorologist (this is science) Jane Bunn hosts a pictures thing on her Facebook wall from around Australia. Always a pleasure. This is not a promotion - there is nothing in it on a commercial basis. Just for fun.

I feel so tempted to copy some gentle pics here, but I am not sure of the intellectual property issues. Being on facebook, it is in the public domain, I think?
