Post pictures of anything, with comment...couple words.

You know... Boom sounds like a bad marketing decision for a name for a manufacturer of safe aircraft.
Maybe Boeing will consider spinning off its manned spaceflight division and call it Boom?
For a while, I was thinking SpaceX might do that -- but they haven't had much at all blow up recently.
;)
Yes, Boom is a bad marketing decision...

There's actually no red in this picture

it's a small old village in Britany, France and I've lost the paper where I wrote it's name...
I've spent a week in Britany.. it's far away from where I live so I and my wife have taken an Airbus from Toulouse to Nantes.

Really demonstrates how our perception of reality is heavily influenced by our brain’s role as a prediction engine.
Makes me wonder how we can be sure about reality and the physical world at all.

It's a great picture indeed. Do we see red because it's CocaCola and we expect it to be red, or is there some other mechanism at play? Does the form of the lines induce a sense of color?

As I understand it, the lines introduce enough noise such that the brain is not 100% certain what it's looking at. What we "see" is its best guess at the scene based on prior knowledge.

The image as-is is not very zoomable (you use your browser's zoom or save it locally) but typically as soon as you zoom far enough to where it's not immediately recognizable as a CocaCola can, the red color disappears.

Cruisng around some clouds that going to make rain soon, yesterday...

This castle located in Normandy, France belongs to a family... I talk to a gardener and he told me that it was not possible to visit... so I've been lucky to be able to enter inside the property to take a photo.
behind the castle there is the Atlantic Ocean...

(almost) Too many great photos in the last half-dozen or so posts to fave! ;) My clicky-finger'd be worn to a nub!
I shall finish up tonight from our hols with "soggy doggy" or "salty sea dog" - take your pick :) We adopted him at 5 years old from the Greyhound rehoming kennel near us . After a life in a racing kennel and on the track he is living his best life - he loves the sea and waves and steak and sleeping on soft beds :) He's 11 now, but still a puppy at heart !
