Worst thing to drink while flying. Caffeine is probably the next beverage that should be avoided!
I'd opt for H2O, not even the fizzy type.

Whirlpool and RCA had a thing in those days.
I thought it was funny to see the RCA "meatball" in that image, though. RCA modernized its logo at about the same time that 2001 came out.
My father was a big fan of all things RCA and used RCA tubes and parts as much as possible in his shop, so I was pretty attuned to such things in those days.

The meatball was the coolest, though.

In Kubrick's defense, the gestation period for 2001 was quite long, so it could be that those graphics were finalized well before RCA's change.

And, of course, as incredible as the futurism of 2001 was, he/they did show a certain tone-deafness when it came to picking the really durable branding.

Whirlpool now has a thing with Maytag/KitchenAid/JennAir/Amana.
The "Meatball" ownership was transferred to Rockwell/Collins, on interim basis!
