Kef Uni-Q coax mid/tweet crossed to an active 8" sub driver at around 200 Hz. Great bass extension for a standmount, and wonderful directivity as well. Will be updating them soon with new cabinets, and matching active 12" sub driver equipped stands in open baffle configuration to create a cardioid bass pattern for even smoother in-room bass performance.

A few weeks ago I dug out my old Castle Conway III speakers to see how good they'd be in my lounge. I tested them against Revel M106s and KEF LS50 Metas - and found that I preferred the old Castles.

I've tarted them up a bit with some vinyl. I think they are set to stay where they are. Twenty years old, D'Appolito design.

I think you make up your own definition for the purposes of this thread.

Similar to the "Most beautiful speakers in the world ?" thread? There are some absolute horrors in there.
