What used to be my favorite - over the NE autumn-foliage - was those same trees glistening with 8" icicles - on every branch - in the frigid-dead of winter!
I expect and hope you'd feel sorry for this transplanted soul, who now has nothing but d*mn palm trees to look at, anymore.
I recall well during my college years, when we looked forward to making our yearly trek back home from college (NJ<>OH) for the holidays. The PA corridor of route I-80 would just shimmer with those icicles, on both sides of the highway, for miles on end. Pocono Mountains (PA) looked better w/the icicles in the winter than it did with their autumn-foliage!
Please post photos, if you are lucky enough to catch a view of those icicles, especially in the Poconos.
