That is beautiful. Is that Germany? Like the Black Forest?

I just want to hike down to that field with the little brook, pitch a tent, make a fire, cook sausages, eat and sleep overnight... LoL. It looks very inviting.Germany, Harz Mountains
I would pitch my tent where I took the photo from. The mosquitoes will kill you down there.I just want to hike down to that field with the little brook, pitch a tent, make a fire, cook sausages, eat and sleep overnight... LoL. It looks very inviting.
Apologies for revisiting this -- as the flowers opened and matured, I gradually realized that, yes, they do have a nice scent. It is subtle but not that subtle. I'll stick by my claim that it reminds me of lilacs, but it is not quite as sweet; maybe a bit earthier. I feel like I'm trying to write audiophile prose -- what I need is gas chromatographic headspace analysis of the flowers; or maybe analysis of a supercritical carbon dioxide fluid extract of the blossoms! Those are beautiful and I imagine the scent is awesome. What are they?
Hehe... No apology required I always read your comments and enjoy them. That analysis of the flowers would be cool. To have them tested for max odor and nectar would be neat. On a side note the bee industry wants the month of May to be no mow month because it lets flowers grow when bees need it.Apologies for revisiting this -- as the flowers opened and matured, I gradually realized that, yes, they do have a nice scent. I have not seen a bumble bee in years. Canada is importing queens. The situation does not look good nor impressive at the least.Yes, I am familiar with "No Mow May" -- it's actually a bit controversial here in northern New England.
We actually keep most of our fields unmowed until the end of the growing season, out of deference to pollinators and bobolinks.Mow or no? Some lawncare tips to benefit pollinators
The trend of "No Mow May" follows the logic that leaving your whole lawn unmowed for the month can help pollinators. The birds, bugs and bees will use the overgrown weeds and flowers as food and shelter. Instead of doing this for a month then mowing it all down, consider dedicating a small...www.vermontpublic.org
Robbie Williams mowing our back field last October. Robbie's work's not inexpensive, but he's good. He is my hero! He does a great job.
Bobolink sitting on an invasive Russian olive last June:
Bees are doin' OK here -- even native bumblebees.
Full disclosure - the first photo's from last fall, and the second one's from fall of 2022... but they're currently plentiful, too. Just no photo handy.
I can't in good conscience click "like" given the information in your post, so I'll just add to my post count to say that's very sad.I have not seen a bumble bee in years. Canada is importing queens. The situation does not look good nor impressive at the least.
Wow, from 'Take That' to mowing fields.Yes, I am familiar with "No Mow May" -- it's actually a bit controversial here in northern New England.

I seem to recall that mixing Maxell and Ampex tape would create a discontinuity resulting in total annihilation of the known universe.
I just have to ask you this: Robbie Williams mows your lawn?Robbie Williams mowing our back field last October. Robbie's work's not inexpensive, but he's good. He is my hero! He does a great job.

I have an RT-707 boxed in the basement. I pulled it out and verified it worked when I had it sold a few years ago, but the buyer backed out.

I can imagine that this is not cheap.
