Hey guys, i need a portable dac/amp for my laptop. It'll be running IEMS mainly (dm6 + p1's) and hd600's 1% of the time. Reason is because my laptop 3.5mm has considerable noise.
I need something that doesn't have a battery or the battery can be bypassed when plugged in as it'll be plugged in 8-10 hours a day. Budget is around $200, looking at ifi black label nano/dragonfly red etc. But open to other suggestions. Wouldn't mind a bang for buck option too.

A FiiO X3 is a portable DAP that can also function as a USB DAC/amp.
You might also try asking these questions at Head-fi.

Do you need a volume knob?
With IEM I highly recommend it.

Get an Apple USB-C DAC if you only use IEMs. I had the same problem and the Apple adapter solved it for me.
+1
Same problem with my IEMs at my notebooks headphone output. Not only noise, but at these low levels needed for the IEMs, there is a noticable difference in soundquality too, in my case.
Apple USB-C adapter works like a charm.
